who we are

We are Roshn Najmeddin and Tatjana Hora, two master’s students from the University of Utrecht. Our shared curiosity led us to the vibrant Albanian capital city of Tirana during March and April of 2023, where we delved into the intricate relationship between youth, activism and history.  Our mission was to delve into the intricate relationship between youth, activism and history, shedding light on the experiences, perceptions and aspirations of Albanian youth in Tirana.

Roshn engaged directly with passionate Albanian activists who are working tirelessly to bring about positive change. Their stories, struggles, and successes painted a vivid picture of the transformative power of youth-driven initiatives.

Tatjana focused on understanding how Albanian youth perceive democracy and their role within it. Through insightful conversations and thought-provoking discussions, we gained a deeper understanding of their viewpoints, hopes, and challenges. Our exploration also led us to unveil the impact of historical factors on their civic engagement.

As we stand at the intersection of our research journey, we invite you to join us in uncovering the narratives of Albanian youth and their dynamic engagement. Our website is a portal to a world of insights, reflections, and stories – a place where academic exploration meets real-life experiences.

Whether you’re seeking knowledge as a curious learner, striving for global understanding, or simply interested in the youth’s role in shaping societies, we welcome you to join us. Together, let’s delve into our exploration, uncovering the intricate dynamics of Albanian youth.

Much love,
